After years of recreational diving around the world, we’d seen first-hand how waste ends up in the ocean. Our turning point came during a dive trip to Malta. While taking part in a harbour dive and clean-up, we noticed something simple but frustrating: gaffer tape and masking tape used to label dive tanks regularly fell off and ended up on the seabed.
That raised an obvious question—why are divers still using disposable tape in the 21st century?
A quick calculation showed just how much tape a single diver can use (and lose) every year. Multiply that across dive clubs and schools worldwide, and the impact adds up fast.
That’s how DiveTagsUK was born.
We design recyclable aluminium dive tags, created by divers, for divers. Our durable, colour-coated tags are permanently engraved and ideal for scuba tanks, dive gear, bags, and equipment—eliminating disposable tape and helping reduce ocean pollution.

The Idea
DiveTagsUK was created to provide a permanent, environmentally friendly alternative to disposable tape used for scuba tank and dive kit identification.
Designed by divers, for divers, our range of high-quality aluminium ID tags offers a durable, reusable solution for clearly labelling dive equipment. Whether you’re diving locally or travelling abroad, our tags help protect your valuable kit while reducing plastic and paper waste caused by gaffer and masking tape.
We offer military-style dog tags (50mm x 28mm) and round ID tags (19mm, 25mm, and 32mm) in a range of colours. Every tag is permanently engraved for long-lasting identification.
Each tag is supplied with a keyring for easy attachment. Selected tags also include a bungee and rubber silencer to minimise movement, noise, and wear on your equipment.
Dive Schools and Clubs
Our tag range has been purpose-built to meet the practical demands of dive schools and clubs. We supply personalised tags featuring your school or club name and logo, helping you clearly identify equipment and reduce the risk of kit going missing at the end of a dive.
Designed as a professional alternative to tape and temporary labels, our tags stay securely attached during transport and in-water use. No more peeling tape or markers floating away in the ocean. Each tag includes dedicated space for permanent marker identification, allowing divers to quickly and clearly mark their assigned equipment.
Fast, accurate identification of issued kit — for both experienced and novice divers — means smoother organisation at the kit issue point and more time spent diving. On return, equipment can be efficiently checked back in and accounted for.
Nitrox and Air Cylinder Tags
Air and Nitrox cylinders can be clearly identified using our 50mm military-style green NITROX and black AIR dog tags. Relevant safety information can be written on the reverse and easily cleaned off after use.
Both tank tag styles can be engraved with your school or club name or logo and include space on the front to add details of the diver they are issued to.
At the end of the day, simply wipe the tags clean and they’re ready to use again. Durable, reusable, and built for busy dive operations.
Tank Tags
Our reusable Nitrox and Air tank tags remove the problems associated with taping cylinders:
No tape residue on paint
No labels falling off during transport
No pollution entering the ocean
Manufactured from colour-coated aluminium, each tag is engraved on the front with your name or organisation, with writable areas for fill details such as mix %, MOD, and date. After use, tags can simply be wiped clean and reused for the next fill.
All tank tags are supplied as standard with an elasticated bungee and rubberised silencer to protect both the tag and your cylinder while reducing unwanted rub and noise.

We offer 3 types of tags which you can look at in our shop they allow you to have critical information available to you or your buddy if the worst ha[ppens. The Tags are in Red so that they are easily visable and show
Custom insurance tag (25mm round) - which allows you to add your dive insurance company, policy number and insurance contact phone number.
We also offer emergency contact tags with your details on the front and your emergency contacts details on the reverse side.
